Norway´s Borestranden Beach
One of the best surfing and kiting beaches in Norway, the 3-kilometer long Borestranden Beach is a beautiful place for a day out. The only beach along the Jæren coastline with a hotel and campsite, Borestranden Beach is one of the only Jæren beaches where you’re allowed to kitesurf.
Surfing is possible at Borestranden Beach throughout the year, with smaller waves and less wind in summer (ideal for beginners) and both stronger waves and wind in winter (perfect for experienced surfers).
Be aware that between 1 October and 31 March there are some restrictions for surfing, windsurfing and kiting in bird-protected areas.
Important note: The undercurrents at Borestranden Beach are extremely strong, so it’s important to be very careful if you want to swim in the water. Make sure to follow any safety guidelines you find at the beach and keep a close eye on any young ones in the water.
